15 electric buses will be on roads in 6 months: Nitin Gadkari

BRAND NEW DELHI: As many as fifteen electrical buses based on economically practical battery technology are being created in collaboration with ISRO and they would be on highways within six months on a preliminary basis, Road Transport as well as Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said today.

"It continues to be decided to design electric transport system for buses within collaboration with ISRO. The actual Ministry is committed to market research and innovation and you may anticipate some breakthrough in certain six to twelve months, inch Gadkari said.

The Indian native Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has already developed lithium ion electric battery for use in satellites after collaboration with it, the work is on testing these battery packs to find what modifications are essential to use them for car, he said.
