The San Francisco Municipal Railway tour bus engine overheated and captured fire Tuesday morning, quickly blocking traffic on Oughout. S. Highway 101, based on Muni and California Freeway Patrol officials.
The fire had been reported shortly after 7: fifteen a. m. on southbound Highway 101 near the Acabar Chavez Street off-ramp, based on the CHP.
A filter within the bus engine compartment overheated as well as caught fire. The coach was not in service and had nobody on board besides the driver, who had been not injured, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.
The fireplace was quickly put out and also the bus was eventually in a position to drive away shortly before eight a. m. after obstructing the far right southbound lane of the highway, CHP officials said.
The car that caught fire is usually more than 14 years old and is amongst part of Muni's fleet that this agency is looking to replace along with new buses, Rose stated.
