These days I am writing about fuel kinds in India. As I described last week, diesel and petroleum are fuel types in which the main difference is described by the cost of operating. In the current article I will have a look at gasoline, diesel, LPG and CNG. Which is better for what? As well as which should I choose?
Though you will find alternative fuels like bio-gas and ethanol, we are not really dealing in detail as they are certainly not used in practice due to nonavailability in sufficient quantity.
I am going to write the article as follows: My goal is to compare and score each one of the fuel types for the subsequent dimensions:
Investment
Running price
Maintenance
Comfort
Performance
Atmosphere
Availability
I will finalize having a conclusion.
Investment
Of the energy types mentioned, we can easily claim that petrol engine is the least expensive. This is because the petrol motor is the base engine as well as simplest one. CNG and also LPG both require small engine modifications. The diesel powered engine is technically more complicated than the petrol engine and therefore also more expensive.
For diesel-powered engines, the design has to be modified taking into account the nature of diesel, that requires higher compression proportion for compression ignition to happen. Hence a diesel powerplant may be anywhere around a lakh rupees more expensive than a gas engine.
LPG and CNG are highly combustible, and hence the actual engine inherent technology doesn't need fundamental changes. For setting up LPG or CNG package, the initial investment requires application Rs 40, 000 with regard to CNG and Rs twenty, 000 for LPG. This could include the fitment of canister and modification of the serp and starting system appropriately.
