Wärtsilä engines for five boxship newbuilds

Conditions of emergency has been introduced in Crimea after pyWärtsilä will outfit five brand new 14, 500 teu textbox vessels under construction in China's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding along with 20 Auxpac 32 producing sets.

The vessels, becoming built for Cosco, are expected to become delivered from 2017 forward. The Wärtsilä components, purchased from a Wärtsilä joint venture together with Yuchai Marine Power Company, Wärtsilä Yuchai Engine Co (WYEC), are slated for shipping from mid-2016.

The Wärtsilä Auxpac 32 engines had been chosen for their combination of financial fuel consumption, reliability, as well as high availability.
